Intel has updated its site to include testing equipment for its new generation of hardware. These interposers are for those chips to be assessed before they are fully released and to make sure it all works as it should. this is why Intel is prepping Battlemage and Arrow Lake-HX interposers for testing.

These function as the electrical interface routing between one socket and another. With the listings on the design-in tools store as reported by Videocardz, it brings various tools such as the Gen5 VR for CPU voltage regulation to make sure it’s all in order before the final products are made.

Next-gen Intel hardware

Due to these new listings, we do get the confirmation of what the new selection of graphics cards and CPUs Intel is preparing. As it has unveiled the interposers for Battlemage (BMG), Arrow Lake (ARL), and Lunar Lake all of which are expected to release in 2024 making it an interesting range of products.

The biggest changes shown by the release are the announcement of the BGA2362-BMG-X2 and BGA2727-BMG-X3 GPU. But also the increase in the number of pins compared to the current gen of Intel Arc GPUs. As the current flagship has 2,660 while the new board size will be increasing with the top-end options.

This does look like it could be released to GPUs in the new series with different package sizes. As most others might keep the package size the same even though the die size might differ on individual graphics.

There is also the addition of Arrow Lake-HX and Lunar Lake-M, which are the next-gen for desktop/laptop hybrid CPUs and tablet hardware. All of these should range from high to low mobile power fitting plenty of needs and devices.
