Is Microsoft Azure down?
At the time of writing, on June 6th, 2023, DownDetector is reporting a ton of issues with Microsoft Azure. With over 4,000 reports of outages posted online. Many users are reporting a problem with accessing the website, as well as logging in or simply connecting to the server.
As we can see on the DownDetector page, many comments are coming through to say they have trouble logging in to the Azure portal, Azure AD (Active Directory), or Azure SQL. Reports suggest that many users will be greeted with the ‘Our services aren’t available right now‘ error message.
How to check if Microsoft Azure is down
We already mentioned DownDetector – and that can be a great place to see if any other users are experiencing problems with Microsoft Azure. Another place to check out though is the Azure Status on the official Microsoft website here.
This also reveals that the Azure Portal is being impacted heavily right now, on June 9th, 2023. It shows that the portal is being affected across many regions including the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
In addition to that, you can take a look at the ‘Azure Service Health‘ page. Unfortunately, when we tried to do so, even this was down (at the time of writing). Major problems with the Microsoft service will look to be resolved as soon as possible, we’re sure.
Remember that any planned maintenance which can cause outages will be reported by Microsoft ahead of time. Unsuspected strikes on the other hand may take some time to resolve.
