Tracking down the best PC hardware discounts can be time consuming, but I’ve just come across this AMD Ryzen 7 5700X deal that offers excellent value for money. It’s ideal if you want a more mid-range option that still delivers impressive performance – now for less than $170.

The list price for the 5700X on Amazon is $319.00, but the price has been absolutely demolished in a fresh deal. In fact, it updated from 44% off to 48% off during the course of writing this, so it is currently selling for just $167.00 – a saving of $152.

Why this Ryzen 7 5700X deal is worth it

SpecificationDetails
Base clock speed3.4 GHz
Boost clock speed4.6 GHz
Cores8
Threads16
SocketAM4
TDP65W

While it may not be the latest or best CPU for gaming, it delivers 8 cores and 16 threads to help handle productivity workloads without slowing down. It fits the last-gen AM4 socket, which is a great upgrade if you’re on older AMD hardware or just want to stick to a more budget-friendly build.

One of my favorite things about this processor is the low TDP, which makes sure it is easy to keep cool and maintain low running temperatures, even in a budget rig. To compare, the next step up, the 5800X, has a more power-hungry 105W TDP.

What makes the 5700X good value?

A little bit of research goes a long way when finding a great deal. As such, taking a look at price history sites gives you a good idea of whether this is actually good value for money. The graph below represents the price history on Amazon for the 5700X.

This deal is so new, that the stats haven’t quite updated yet at the time of writing. The $168.18 price tag was already the lowest-ever price, but a further (albeit small) drop to $167.00 solidifies that. It has been up an down recently, so assume that this deal won’t be around forever.

Considering that the newer 5700X3D is not discounted on Amazon right now, the 5700X is a fantastic choice for both gaming and productivity workloads – both of which I use it for.
