As is ritual now, we’re getting a new mainline Pokémon game this year. Now we know that we’ll be finding out more information on the game tomorrow.

New Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Trailer

The new trailer drops tomorrow on the Pokémon YouTube channel at 6:00 AM PDT, or 14:00 PM GMT. It’s unclear what exactly the information included in the stream will be, but we can likely expect a release date for the game and some details on the new Pokémon to be featured.

Earlier this year, we were given information on how the game will function, with open worlds that include urban areas and open wilderness without borders. We were also told the new starter Pokémon for the game, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Personally, we’d choose Quaxly because he’s a tiny little duck friend, and if you choose any of the other Pokémon starters then you’re factually incorrect and are in fact an enemy of ours because turning down the option to have a tiny duck friend is baffling to us on a core level.

You can watch the stream here.

High hopes for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Legends Arceus

There are high hopes for the new iteration of Pokémon, especially given how loved Pokémon Legends Arceus was due to how much it took the standard Pokémon format and completely shifted it. There’s no real sign that the new game will take the lessons learned from Arceus, but hopefully, by tomorrow we’ll know for sure if Pokémon Scarlet/Violet is going to be more in line with traditional mainline Pokémon releases or something closer to the aforementioned Arceus. It’ll also be interesting to see how the game looks and plays, given that this is the second Pokémon game from the Game Freak team in a year and concerns are rife about how busy the team must be to output games at this speed.
