News that upcoming open-world survival game Nightingale will be passing on FRS3, at least at launch, is a disappointing revelation. However, with the recommend GPU being the RX 5700 XT, we can still expect excellent performance from newer generations like the RX 7800 XT, which is currently seeing some generous discounts online.

Our best GPU for Nightingale page currently opts for the RX 6800 XT as a top pick for 1440p gameplay. However, now that we’ve seen some price drops for the next-generation 7800 XT, we’re drawn to recommending it as another option as it currently costs less than $500 – which is what many 6800 XT SKUs are still retailing for at the moment.

RX 7800 XT spotted online for under $500

We’ve looked across a few different retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg to scout out some 7800 XT deals, a GPU which is perfect for 1440p gaming (great at 4K too) and one of the best graphics cards at the moment in terms of value for money on the AMD side of things. We’ve selected just a few worth considering under $500 at the time of publishing.

If you’re particularly interested in the RX 7800XT and what something that stands out a little more, then XFX are releasing a white colorway option to perhaps match the rest of your build.

Will Nightingale get FSR3 support later?

As per their blog post explaining some pre-launch updates, Nightingale developers Inflexion Games have talked through their reason to remove FSR3 integration just ahead of launch, which means any RDNA GPU user misses out on upscaling and frame generation tech. They explain that this is a problem with crashes during a stress test that seemed to be caused by their integration of the tech.

Nightingale FSR3 removal

As you can see above, they will be working to see if they can implement it in a future update. So, nothing has been confirmed just yet, but hopefully it gets resolved as soon as possible. Other games such as Starfield recently got FSR3, and more supported games is always welcome.
