Despite being replaced by a newer model, Nvidia’s standard RTX 4080 is still more pricy than the RTX 4080 Super. Some versions of the latter card are being sold for £999.99, however, we’ve found RTX 4080 units costing nearly £1,200 – that’s nearly £200 more than you would pay for a brand new Super version. This is despite the fact the card is less powerful and is no longer in production.

Opting for an RTX 4080 in 2024 simply does not make sense at this price point, given the sheer difference in specs between the standard and Super Variant. We’ve compiled a table showing the difference between the two cards, below. We’ve also created a full breakdown, outlining the key differences between the RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 Super.

This is the opposite of what we have seen with the Nvidia 4070 Ti, which saw huge drops in price since the Super has come out. At Newegg, the MSI Ventus 2X model is up to $50 off (including a promo code), while the MSI Ventus 3X model is a clean $80 off at Amazon at the time of writing.
We’re hoping to see the prices fall for the standard RTX 4080, although we could be waiting a while. Data from Camel, Camel, Camel on some versions of the 10GB RTX 3080 – another card replaced by a Super variant, revealed the card’s price actually remained stable for some time despite the fact it was technically replaced by a newer product.
