Back when the RTX 4080 released, many people weren’t so impressed with the price, and rightly so, the price to performance was way off. Especially when the flagship RTX 4090 remains such a large performance jump. The newer 4080 Super looks to remedy that with a $200 cheaper MSRP, but current lack of availability has driven the prices back up.
The RTX 4080 released for $1,199 and the recent Super variant costs just $999 with better performance – sounds like a good deal, but it’s hard to find one at this price now that the initial wave of sales has passed by. Luckily, there are some promising signs that returning stock levels can keep the cost down, so hopefully the 4080 Super vs 4080 isn’t the same old story.

RTX 4080 Super is hard to find at MSRP right now
When looking for the RTX 4080 Super on Amazon, you aren’t met with a particularly good selection right now – stock is scarce, and when it’s not, the price is driven way up by a few hundred dollars. It is a similar story on other retailers like Newegg and Best Buy, though we have found a silver lining for the former.
Newegg has always been a great place to bag a new graphics card, and this fresh listing of the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Trinity OC White Edition for $1,049.99 is a great option if you want to get the RTX 4080 Super for close to MSRP. At the time of writing, it is available for back order – so it is yet to release and expected on February 22nd.
Hopefully we get to see a new flood of this kind of listing to stop the price drifting even further away from MSRP and back to the same level as the RTX 4080. The 4080 Super itself doesn’t offer much better performance and our RTX 4080 Super review shows that, with many reviewers noting that the refreshed price was the biggest selling point.
Founders Edition is also out of stock
UPDATE: Nvidia are now stocking up on Founders Edition cards and the RTX 4080 Super is now back in stock in the US at the time of writing.
One of the best ways of securing the RTX 4080 Super for its $999 MSRP is by buying it directly from Nvidia. However, the Founders Edition card is also tough to get a hold of and we don’t expect stock levels to be particularly plentiful here either. It looks to be out of stock across multiple storefronts including the US and UK, but you may have better luck elsewhere in the world.
