Razer has been on an unstoppable march to cover every aspect of gaming technology for the last decade or so, with some incredible gaming mice, keyboards, and laptops and the Raver Leviathan V2 sound bar continues this trend. From humble beginnings in 1999 when they unveiled the Razer Boomslang as the ‘world’s first gaming mouse’ the Singaporean gaming peripheral giant has experienced explosive growth. A mixture of aggressive branding and quality products has cemented Razer as a household name in the world of PC, console, and mobile gaming.

The original Leviathan sound bar was met with a very positive critical reception for its design, ease of use, and sound quality. In the years since Razer launched the Nommo line of gaming speakers, which culminated in the expensive and ridiculously bassy Razer Nommo Pro speakers. We were impressed with the Nommo Pros and they solidified Razer’s reputation in the world of gaming audio. The Leviathan V2 sound bar looks like it will continue said reputation.

Razer Leviathan V2 sound bar specs

As with any product launch or announcement, details about the Leviathan V2 a slim, but we’ve managed to sniff out some specs and it’s looking like an impressive all-in-one gaming audio solution. So what’s new about the Leviathan V2? Let’s take a look.

  • 65W peak output with a dedicated subwoofer
  • RGB lighting powered by Razer Chroma
  • Customization via the Razer Mobile app and Razer Synapse
  • Wired and wireless functionality with Bluetooth connectivity
  • THX spatial audio

When comparing these specs with those of the original leviathan at first glance there are a few key differences. Firstly the peak output from the sound bar has more than doubled from the original’s 30W to 65W. Additionally, Razer has opted for THX spatial audio for virtual surround sound this time around, as opposed to the first Leviathan, which had its surround sound provided by Dolby. Other than these the Razer Leviathan V2 looks pretty similar to the original. Of course this time we get full RGB lighting, which was conspicuously absent in the first Leviathan.

Razer Leviathan V2 price

Razer has upped the price marginally from the Leviathan’s $229.99 to $249.99 for the Leviathan V2, which is a refreshing example of companies not price gouging on an updated model with only slight changes.

Razer Leviathan V2 release date

It’s not totally clear yet, but we expected the Leviathan sound bar to be available for purchase pretty soon, usually, Razer allows the purchase of their new products very rapidly after announcement/release.
