Star Wars Jedi Survivor can use up to 20GB of VRAM

As the Star Wars Jedi Survivor release time comes closer more and more information on its performance has been coming out. Previously a tweet informing us of the performance to expect now we can see what that looks like. And Star Wars Jedi Survivor can use up to 20GB of VRAM.
Bad PC ports have been ever so common recently, such as the Last of US Part 1 and its mixed reviews on Steam. So it might be the same case for the new Star Wars game coming out tomorrow (28th of April).
Star Wars Jedi Survivor bad PC performance
On the YouTube channel GameStar, the video showcases the performance of the game on the system. Although it’s in German and we’re not sure what they are talking about, we can easily see on the overlay how the game performs. And translating the title gives us a hint of their thoughts, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor deserves a top rating, but not in this condition!”.
As a screenshot below shows, the game runs at just 34FPS, but it also consumes a whole 19.7 GB of VRAM. This might be allocated VRAM or so, but the framerate should still be better on this setup. It does also suggest it only is utilizing 40% of the GPU and 18GB of RAM.
And the system itself is nothing to scoff about. Playing at 1440p, they are running an RTX 4090, with a Ryzen 9 5900X and 32GB of RAM. It’s definitely a system that should be capable of running 2K games at high framerates, even with higher quality. Although the look itself doesn’t look too appealing anyway from this video.
What that means is that we can expect some sort of patches and apologies on release. It has been confirmed that Star Wars Jedi Survor will in fact get a day one patch. Which does say it will fix bugs, improve performance, and add more accessibility. But it’s still a shame to see all these titles requiring a patch to start with. And so we shouldn’t need a high gaming card to try to even get some OK performance.
