Even with the delays to the release date, the game has come out with plenty of faults. With warnings of the performance before the release, Star Wars Jedi Survivor has been released with mostly negative reviews on Steam.
The game was already delayed by a few weeks since it was meant to launch in the middle of March. And that clearly was to help with the optimization and performance, so it might have been even worse. But Respawn (the developers) promised a day one patch to potentially fix bugs and the performance of the game. And that has either not come out with the game or not done enough.
It’s a shame that the game launch is going to be remembered for the bad performance. As the first game was a great success. Bringing a different community to the souls-like type of gaming, which was the case for us. So we can just hope it improves over time.

Why is Star Wars Jedi Survivor running so badly?
The simple case may be that the game is just poorly optimized. Even before the release, some footage showed that the game was using up to 20GB of VRAM on the user’s RTX 4090. But still only achieving 30 or so FPS. Which is frankly ridiculous on the top choice of hardware.
It might even be the case that the game is not utilizing the resources fully. As in the video from the other day, the GPU is only being used 40% or so, and the CPU is hit very hard across the board. And so, we can expect plenty of patches to come to try and fix those issues. Which may save it as No Man’s Sky has over the years.
Respawn update on performance
In an update, the Star Wars Jedi Team has responded about the performance hitches. They acknowledge that a percentage of its users are experiencing subpar performance. In particular users with high-end machines might be affected depending on specific configurations.
They provide the reasoning that those on the newest hardware, with multi-threaded chipsets for Windows 11, are having problems on Windows 10. Or if you have a top GPU with a low CPU have frame loss. So there is something behind it and updates are on the way to help with the situation.
