The RTX 4080 Super is the third and final Super card to release this January, and it looks to be an interesting entry to the 40 series. However, leaked Geekbench 6 benchmarks may put a damper on launch day as there is only a marginal increase in performance compared to the ‘vanilla’ RTX 4080.

Anyone who’s been counting down the days until the RTX 4080 Super release date may be disappointed to hear that benchmarks posted to BenchLeaks reveal just a 7% difference in performance between the new and improved Super and the original 4080 that released way back in November 2022.

Despite that, it’s worth noting that the Super variant will have an MSRP of $200 less. So if you’re still interested in scoring yourself this new GPU, head on over to our where to buy RTX 4080 Super hub.

Looking towards the RTX 4080 Super specs shows us that there are some noticeable differences between this new card and the older 4080. The Super now scores more than 10,000 CUDA cores, higher boost clock speeds, and a minor increase in the memory bandwidth. Yes, these all make a difference, but not too much in grand scheme of things.

Benchleaks are a great source for spotting early benchmarks, though we’ll also be looking towards reviews to get a full comparison against a wide range of popular graphics cards. So far though, we can see that the leaks reveal that the RTX 4080 Super has an OpenCL score as high as 257,144 when paired with an i9-13900KF, whereas the non-Super SKU has managed 240,292 in a similar test, showing around a 7% increase.

When is the RTX 4080 Super launch day?

The RTX 4080 Super will be available starting January 31st, with the review embargo for both MSRP and non-MSRP cards being lifted on the same day due to a delay. As for the exact time, we expect to see the card launch at 2PM GMT – the same time we’ve witnessed for both the 4070 Super and 4070 Ti Super releases.

If you want to learn more about the differences between the RTX 4080 Super vs RTX 4080, then our comparison guide has everything you need to know. The performance increases may not be that substantial in the end, but the lower price still makes the Super card better value for money.
