Intel is about to introduce Alder Lake to the world, with their 12th gen processors bringing the big/little hybrid architecture to the desktop world. We are going to be looking at where to buy Intel’s flagship CPUs – the Core i9-12900 and Core i9-12900K, the release date, specifications, and price.

Intel Core i9-12900K & i9-12900KF release date

The release date for the Intel Core i9-12900 and 12900K is set for the 4th of November. We assume they will release the three main SKUs first (i9-12900K, i7-12700K, and i5-12600K), with the rest following in 2022. We believe pre orders start from the 27th of October, indicating the launch is very close.

Until the launch, there are no official prices across any of the SKUs but for budding buyers who miss out on the initial stock, you should be able to pre order the i9-12900(K) from all the major retailers.

We believe the Intel i9-2900K processor will be more expensive than the 11th gen counterpart. This is obviously down to it featuring more cores and in theory, should be faster too, making the pricing a little easier to stomach.

We expect the Intel Core i9-12900K to cost around $600-$700.
