The seasonal model of content has been serving Apex Legends from Respawn Entertainment well for a while now, with 17 seasons already released. The game shows no signs of slowing down with Season 18 on the horizon.

With the next update for Apex Legends on its way to bring the end of Season 17: Arsenal and usher in the new Season 18, fans are itching for more news. What will be in the new season? When is the Season 18 release date? What will the new season be named?

If you’re looking for information on what Apex Legend Season 18 will be called, look no further. We’ve got all the news you could want right here as Season 17’s on its way out.

What will Season 18 of Apex Legends be named?

Season 18 of Apex Legends will be called Resurrection, to celebrate the Revenant rework. Season 18’s name was announced with the launch trailer for the season, which heavily featured Revenant and other familiar Legends.

Resurrection includes the update for the story of Revenant, who has served for hundreds of years under the Syndicate. He begins to glitch, and finds that his old abilities have been wiped with new ones to take their place. Someone else is in control of Revenant now.

What will be included in Season 18 of Apex Legends?

The Legend rework for Revenant, called Revenant Reborn, will be coming with Season 18 as the biggest change for the game. He’ll be given new abilities, including:

  • Assassin’s Instinct (Passive): Highlight nearby visible enemies who are low on health. You crouch walk faster and have improved wall climbing.
  • Shadow Pounce (Tactical): Unleash a powerful pounce forwards. Hold to charge for farther distances.
  • Forged Shadows (Ultimate): Forge a shroud of hardened shadows around you that blocks direct damage and regenerates after breaking. Your shadows and tactical are refreshed on knockdowns.

While this isn’t a brand new Legend to play with, as Revenant was released back in 2020, this rework includes all new abilities to make him feel brand new.

The Charge Rifle will be receiving an update as well, as a projectile weapon instead of a hitscan one. Ranked gameplay will be updated, Broken Moon will be added back to the mixtape for maps, and there are new collection events and cosmetics to earn as you play the new season. Patch notes were also released, including the new balance changes that were done for Resurrection.

Apex Legends lets players leap into a battle royale setting, playing as unique Legends to battle it out with higher and higher stakes for the title of the Apex Legend. There are plenty of other modes to enjoy in matchmaking, and Season 18 will feature them all. It’s a great time to join the fight this August as the new season begins.
