Are you trying to find Wyll in Baldur’s Gate 3? It won’t take you very long to track down this Human Warlock and make him a valuable member of your party. There are many companions that you can find throughout the game, each with their own personality, backstory, and connection to the main storyline.

Larian Studios has added many additions to Baldur’s Gate 3 since early access but much has also stayed the same. After waking up in a pod aboard the Nautiloid, you will meet others who share the same fate as you unless you find a way to remove the parasite in your head.

Each companion in the game offers an optional quest for you to complete whether it is exploring a ravaged beach or delving into a secret room with a sarcophagus with a hooded skeleton. There are many spells to learn and combat methods to master. Wyll is an invaluable ally in all of this so you best keep him by your side. Here is how you can unlock Wyll in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to find Wyll in Baldur’s Gate 3

To find Wyll, you will need to wait until after the ship crashes. You will then get the removing the parasite quest. From the ship wreckage, this quest will lead you north to Druid Grove.

When you first reach Druid Grove, you will see many Goblins fighting at the entrance to the area. Help the druids out to gain access to the grove. Afterward, head into the grove and locate the sparring area in the center. Wyll will be helping a child here. Speak to him and he will join your party.

There are other companions that you will find early on in the game such as:

  • Lae’zel – Githyanki Fighter
  • Astarion – Vampire High Half Elf Arcane Trickster Rogue
  • Shadowheart – Half Elf Cleric
  • Gale – Human wizard

There are also animal companions such as Scratch that you can find to help you on your journey. Keep an eye out for additional camp companions as you make your way through the game.

What Subclass to choose for Wyll in Baldur’s Gate 3

The best subclass for Wyll is the Fiend Warlock subclass. This is because it turns the human body into a weapon at long range and is great for dealing damage. Of course, you are free to make another choice if needed. Wyll is a true Warlock who made a pact with a patron who isn’t afraid to turn him into a devil/demon if necessary to make him obey.

Gameplay for the Warlock is pretty basic and allows you to fire out powerful spells that can do some serious damage to your opponents. This spike in damage will help you clear many parts of the game. If you need more information about the subclasses for the warlock, you can check them out below.

The Fiend

This subclass is all about dealing damage. Wyll’s Fiend patron gives him access to powerful spells and abilities that can inflict serious damage on his enemies. He also gains a number of resistances and immunities, making him a durable and difficult target to take down.

The Archfey

This subclass is more focused on trickery and deception. Wyll’s Archfey patron gives him access to spells and abilities that can be used to control the battlefield or distract his enemies. He also gains a number of social abilities that can be used to persuade or intimidate NPCs.

The Great Old One

This subclass is all about mind control and manipulation. Wyll’s Great Old One patron gives him access to spells and abilities that can be used to control the minds of his enemies or bend them to his will. He also gains a number of psionic abilities that can be used to read minds or project illusions.

Here are some additional considerations when choosing a subclass for Wyll:

  • Your party composition: If you already have a lot of damage-dealers in your party, then you may want to consider choosing a subclass for Wyll that focuses on utility or support.
  • Your playstyle: If you like to play aggressively and get into the thick of combat, then The Fiend is a good choice. If you prefer to play more strategically and use your spells to control the battlefield, then The Archfey or The Great Old One are good options.
  • Your personal preference: Ultimately, the best way to choose a subclass for Wyll is to experiment and see what you like best. There is no right or wrong answer, so just have fun with it and see what works for you.
