Location of the Mystic Carrion Jars in Baldur’s Gate 3
If you want to find the Mystic Carrion Jars in BG3, you will need to search the following areas:
- Mystic Carrion Heart Jar – The Heart Jar is actually located inside of Thrumbo, the Carrion’s servant. You will get the objective to find Mystic Carrion’s servant after going to the Undercity Ruins and locating a sarcophagus with a book titled Funerary Jar Form and Function. Thrumbo’s location is to the east of Philgrave’s Mansion if you haven’t located him yet.
- Mystic Carrion Brain Jar – Enter the Undercity Ruins Waypoint. Then go to the Ancient Lair. Once there, open the door embedded in the stone wall. This will require a DC 20 Sleight of Hand check. The jar will be on a sarcophagus.
- Mystic Carrion Lung Jar – Start by going to the mortuary in the city’s graveyard. Once there, go to the basement. Here, you will find the jar along with some plants.
- Mystic Carrion Liver Jar – Head back to the Ancient Lair where you found the Brain Jar. You will find a Gilded Chest that requires a DC 20 Sleight of Hand check to open. This chest contains the Liver Jar.
What jars do you need to defeat the Mystic Carrion in Baldur’s Gate 3?
In order to defeat Mystic Carrion, you only need the Heart Jar. However, destroying the other of Mystic Carrion’s body parts will help weaken him, so don’t just ignore them if you can. Each jar of Mystic Carrion is useful in taking him down.
Mystic Carrion’s body parts are just one of the many subquest you can find in Baldur’s Gate 3, and Mystic Carrion’s brain isn’t even the only brain you might end up destroying.
Once you have the Heart Jar, you can go to Philgrave’s Mansion in the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate. The Mystic Carrion is, in fact, a Level 12 Mummy Lord, with Necrotic damage. Once you complete the quest, first you must go to Lady Jannath’s Estate, climb up the attic, and enter the Atelier.
You can do this by placing the Oskar painting on the easel. From then on, you’ll receive a password and must go to the docks by the pier. Once you enter the house, you can find Thrumbo in a closet. You can then retrieve the Heart Jar. However, if you do decide to kill him, you can receive the reward, a Torch of Revocation.
