Curious to learn what is the Strange Ox in Baldur’s Gate 3? Plenty of interesting folk can be discovered as you find a way to rid yourself of your pesky Tadpole problem. However, not all are human in Baldur’s Gate III.

Baldur’s Gate 3 by Larian Studios will allow you to make a unique player character as you traverse the Forgotten Realm. Of course, you will also have a few traveling companions, such as Wyll, Shadowheart or the Githyanki Lae’zel, to keep you company. But along your travels, you will find a strange creature. This guide will detail what the Strange Ox in Baldur’s Gate 3 is.

What does the Strange Ox do in Baldur’s Gate 3?

The Strange Ox is a slightly hostile NPC you can speak to when you first travel to Emerald Grove of the Druid’s Grove. In addition, if you have chosen to kill the Strange Ox, it will erupt in an explosion of acid. You can then obtain the Shapeshifter’s Boon Ring.

You will find many strange creatures as you traverse the Forgotten Realms in Baldur’s Gate 3. But none are more particular than the Strange Ox.

As a result, if you have a party member with a high Arcana score, such as Druid, Bard, and Sorcerer, you will have a chance to interact with the Strange Ox. With a successful roll of your Arcana skill, you can try to discern why the animal feels this way. You will soon discover that the Ox can use Blindsight and Darkvision, which is quite strange for cattle.

Once gamers get close to the lonesome cattle, you will pick up it is a little bit uneasy. However, when listening to the animal Moo, you can tell something feels slightly human about it. When speaking to the animal, the only thing it will repeat is wanting to return to Baldur’s Gate.

Additionally, you can also use the Potion of Animal Speaking to have a conversation with the bovine. If you speak to the Bored Ox, you will learn some people will take on animal disguises to suit their needs.

Where to find the strange ox in Act 2 in Baldur’s Gate 3

If by chance you have not killed the Strange Ox, you can find the Strange Ox again in the Last Light Inn, near Dammon’s workshop. When you interact with it, be prepared for some general mature content before the Ox turns into a monster. However, you will still be able to obtain the Shapeshifter’s Boon Ring if you missed it before.
