To stay on the good luck, find out what the best gaming laptop or PC graphic settings are for Baldur’s Gate 3.

Have you completed the missing shipment quest yet? Have you become a master Warlock and learned all of the spells? There is much to discover and after finding the Iron Flask, you are probably wondering how it works. Here is what to do with the Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to use the Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3

There are a few options that you can choose from when it comes to the Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3:

  • Give the Iron Flask to Gale
  • Give the Iron Flask to Zarys
  • Give it to the wizard who hired the Zhentarim
  • Keep it and use it for yourself

Out of all the options, the best one is to give the Iron Flask to Zarys at the Zhentarim Hideout. To do this, you must not have opened the caravan strongbox with the flask. If you give her the strongbox, she will return the favor by giving you the Harold Crossbow as a reward.

Once again, make sure you don’t return only the flask to Zarys. Doing this will turn everyone in the hideout hostile and ultimately destroy your progress. Giving the flask to Zarys will also increase the hideout merchant’s stock.

To learn everything about the flask, you must pass an intelligence check of 10. Afterward, you will learn how to use the flask and its abilities. Luckily, the flask doesn’t hold any secrets like the Devilfoil Masks do. Additionally, if you don’t listen to Rugan, and end up opening the Iron Flask, it will prevent you from obtaining the Harold Crossbow.

Can you use the Iron Flask in battle in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Alternatively, you can use the flask to aid you in battle. If you examine the Iron Flask, you will discover that it holds a powerful monster inside. This monster is called a Spectator and it is a level five boss enemy with 95 HP. You will also find one of these creatures near an entrance to the Underdark.

There are two ways to use the flask in combat:

  • Throw it to release the creature to fight for you
  • Release the monster to distract guards

Once the brass stopper is removed, you can throw this powerful magical item to summon the creature inside. Keep in mind, this can be very helpful in combat but the creature can end up attacking you as well, as it attacks nearly everything in sight. The best way to do this is to have an invisible party member throw the flask and everyone else keep their distance, but this can have consequences in the future.

You can also use the creature to distract guards, by unleashing it wherever they are around. This is a great way to sneak into buildings without alerting guards because they’ll be too busy trying to deal with the creature to stop you. However, you can easily be pulled into the fight, so do this with caution.

Iron Flask location in Baldur’s Gate 3

If you need the exact location, the Iron Flask is found in a cave on Risen Road east of Waukeen’s Rest. Outside the cave, you will see a large group of Gnolls. Inside, there will be some allies, including Rugan. These are the same allies needed for the missing caravan quest, Act 1.

If you enter the cave first, you will be treated to some dialogue options before getting thrown into combat. There is a powerful creature outside the cave so it is best to team up with Rugan. The flask is located in the chest inside the cave along with other treasures. You’ll need to lockpick the chest in order to get into it, or you can attack it with your weapon.
