Are you looking to enter the Underdark in Baldur’s Gate 3? There are multiple entrances to this area from lairs filled with spiders to massive doors that you need to lockpick. Despite the Underdark being a dangerous place, some quests will ask you to travel there in secret.
To be rid of the tadpole in your head, sometimes you have to search in weird places for a cure. The Underdark may hold the secret to your survival. After all, many things such as the Myconid Colony reside within it. Threats such as the Spectator and Arcane Turrets also exist.
Take your companions deep underground and search for a method of survival. If you’d rather, you can take the mountain pass. Just remember, your Guardian won’t be there to protect you. This guide will show you where the entrance to the Underdark is in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to access the Underdark in Baldur’s Gate 3
If you want to gain access to the Underdark, you can actually find multiple entrances to it. The following areas are all entrances to the Underdark:
- Defiled Temple ladder – After going through the Shattered Sanctum, you will find an entrance to the Underdark in the Defiled Temple. This is the temple that is in the Goblin Camp on Risen Road.
- Zhentarim Hideout elevator – After helping the traders in the cave on Risen Road, you will get access to the Zhentarim Hideout near Waukeen’s Rest. There is an elevator here that will take you to the Underdark.
- Whispering Depths mushroom circle – Once you go to the Blighted Village on Risen Road, locate the well. Go down the well and deal with the Phase Spiders and Phase Spider Matriarch. Afterward, cast the Feather Fall spell and jump into the giant hole.
- Riverside Teahouse Underdark entrance – Locate Auntie Ethel‘s home and go through the illusory wall in the fireplace. This will lead to the Overgrown Tunnel. Navigate the tunnel until you reach a large door. Cast Protection from Good and Evil on the Whispering Masks. Go through the door and locate the waterfall. Jump through the waterfall and you will find a mushroom circle that will take you to the Underdark.
As you can tell, there is no shortage of ways to reach the Underdark. The Underdark has great areas to explore like the Arcane Tower. You can even access the large area known as Grymforge here and find the Adamantine Forge. There is also the Sussur Tree which will help you complete some puzzles.
