Do you want to save Mayrina from the hag in Baldur’s Gate 3? Auntie Ethel has been keeping her locked away and you need to save her. This is a noble quest that you can encounter outside the Blighted Village in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Saving Mayrina requires you to have a strong party. Gather up companions and level them up so they are tough as can be. This is another step in getting that parasite removed from your brain so you better be prepared.
Head deep into the Hag’s lair and get ready for a boss fight. Keep an eye out for traps and be sure to have lockpicks for the doors. This evil witch isn’t going to go down easily. Prepare a Magic Missile in case and mind the undead. Here is how to save Mayrina in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Where to find Mayrina in Baldur’s Gate 3
Before you can rescue Mayrina, you need to know where the quest begins. Just south of the Blighted Village, you will hear Auntie Ethel arguing with Mayrina’s brothers. Interacting with them and gathering the information will lead you to begin the quest to save Mayrina.
Head south from this area to the Sunlit Wetlands. Continue southwest and you will find the Riverside Teahouse. Here, you will run into Ethel and Mayrina. Ethel will offer to remove the tadpole from your mind but don’t take the offer. This will hurt you later on.
After the interaction, Ethel will teleport Mayrina away and you will need to search for her. Using your sneak, go over to the fireplace without Auntie Ethel noticing you and turn it off. Walk through the fireplace since it is an illusion.
You will now enter the Overgrown Tunnels. You can ignore most of the items in here but be sure to grab the whispering masks from the table. Make your way through the tunnels, using the protection from good and evil spell to avoid getting possessed by the mask.
You will find a gnarled door. Interacting with the door will give you a few dialogue options. Later in the tunnels, you can pass some perception checks to find various traps.
After a few fights, you will come across a waterfall. Jump through the waterfall and continue onward. You will eventually come across the confrontation with Auntie Ethel who is now a boss. At the start of the fight, she sets Mayrina’s cage on fire. You can use the Create Water spell to extinguish the fire and save her.
The Old Hag is a pretty tricky boss fight that may require a few skill checks. When you ultimately defeat the Hag, Mayrina will be saved.
After the boss fight, you will have successfully saved Mayrina from Auntie Ethel. To fully save Mayrina afterward, use the Bitter Divorce wand to revive Mayrina’s husband as a zombie. You can do this when you come across her husband’s coffin.
