As the next generation of the Esport is brewing, there might still be some questions on the game. With the Counter-Strike 2 release date upcoming you might be excited to get hands-on with it. Especially if, like us, you haven’t had access to the limited test.

So if you’re wondering whether or not CS2 is a new game or not then you might be wondering if it’s playable anyway. Especially when you’re playing on Mac as that’s not as a popular platform to get games onto especially with lower hardware. So we find out what the situation is with Counter-Strike 2.

Right now, as part of the limited test, Coutner-Strike 2 is not available on Mac. If you’re hoping to still be able to play the test run on macOS, then you won’t be able to. Currently, Counter-Strike 2 is only available on Windows, so you’re out of luck if you were hoping to get on it. This may change as the full game comes out.

Counter Strike 2 Mac FAQ from the Limited Test FAQ telling us the test is only available on Windows.

Will Counter-Strike 2 be available on Mac?

Since CSGO is available on Mac, it would be a surprise if Counter-Strike 2 didn’t end up there as well. Although it might take some time or might not happen at all. As with no immediate support, it might not be a priority. Especially as they’re not going to be the biggest user base for the game.

It might also be some time before it comes to Mac, as the new game brings plenty of improvements to it. With the improvements to the CS2 smokes and the new tick rate it might be quite tougher. As CSGO has been known to be an easy gamer to play with being over 10 years old, this new update will change that. The dynamics might make it too hard for MacOS to handle, which isn’t known for its gaming capabilities, so it might take some time to get there if at all.
