The newest addition to the Diablo series, Diablo IV, brings a return to darkness in the bloody open world of Sanctuary. To journey through the main story and take on the hateful Lilith, you’ll need to create your own character and adventure with them to bring them to full strength. It’s possible to create more than one character to try out the different classes, but if your favorite character ends up getting deleted, can you recover the character?

How to recover your deleted character in Diablo 4

Yes, it is possible for the character to be recovered. However, it’s a limited time window, so you have to be quick. If your character is deleted, here’s what to do:

  • Immediately after deleting the character on the main menu, look to the bottom of the screen
  • There will be an undo delete option between zoom and game menu to undo character delete
  • Hit that button
  • The game will ask if you are sure, choose the undo delete button

Voila! Your deleted character has returned. However, as we said this is a limited option, once you navigate away from this screen or begin another option, the window will close and the character will be lost for good.

Recover deleted character in Diablo 4

There are no limits to the number of characters you can delete and recover in Diablo IV, however, there is a limit of 10 characters to create and keep in total. If you have 10 characters but want to start another, you’ll need to part ways with one of them to make room.

Recovering your deleted character is good if you decide you want to keep that one and delete another, or if you change your mind entirely and decide to keep the 10 characters you already have. This way, you don’t lose all the hard work you’ve put into building up your favorite Druid, Necromancer, Barbarian, Rogue, or Sorcerer if you accidentally lose them.
