Counter-Strike 2 requires players to wait through queue times to play, and sometimes those waits can be pretty long. We’ve been through a few games from the UK and US, among different modes, and we can say there are a lot of differences in terms of wait time.

It shouldn’t matter where you live, but there are a lot of factors to consider, which we discuss below, but there is a general rule of thumb. Get your gaming PC set up now because queue times can be shorter than you think.

The average queue time wait for CS2

Counter-Strike 2 has lengthy queue times if you’re in the US. In the UK, we’ve noticed things are a lot shorter, waiting around a minute, but in the US, we’ve seen it last around seven minutes. If you’re in the UK using the higher-end products, you shouldn’t have any issues, but if you’re in the US and barely getting by with your GPU, you may be causing everyone to wait so long.

This is definitely affected by your Wi-Fi connection, modem or router, and many other factors related to the internet. However, we’ve noticed this is pretty consistent among staff and our writers use the highest speeds available. If there is a server issue that is hurting some servers during this limited test, Steam will send a message about the availability of those servers.

This also relates to the mode. Wingman mode seems to take longer to load than deathmatch for us. A more popular mode tends to load faster because you get enemies faster, but your rank and playtime could affect matchmaking. Instead of choosing modes that you don’t enjoy just because they load faster, we recommend sticking with the ones you enjoy.

It is worth getting into the game if you’re unsure of how long it will take to load each game due to these queue times. Valve seems to have dedicated time to their servers and server capacity so that there aren’t long queue times. If you feel that your wait times are too long, we say have patience and know that things seem to be different for different regions.
