With the Season of the Malignant released, the first season for Diablo IV, a whole host of new content for fans through their season journey and battle pass.
As a part of the developer update livestream that took place on July 6, along with the release date for Season One of Diablo and how long the season is, the Blood Knight class was introduced for Diablo Immortal.
But is the Blood Knight class coming to Diablo IV as well? That’s what we’re here to let you know.
Is the Blood Knight class being added?
No, sadly the Blood Knight class is exclusive to Diablo Immortal for now and is not being added during the Season of the Malignant patch. If you wanted to start Season 1 of Diablo 4 as a Blood Knight, you will be disappointed.
The Blood Knight‘s release on July 13 is only on Diablo Immortal, the mobile Diablo game released by Blizzard in 2022. The class has never been seen in a Diablo game before and is brand new to the franchise. It’s the first new class since the Crusader class was introduced in 2014.
If you want to play as a Blood Knight you’ll have to get into Diablo Immortal to check it out. The Blood Knight is a mid-ranged class that has a vampiric aesthetic, although they are not vampires and instead are vampire hunters, abominations who have undergone a transformation from vampire bites.
They use the shadows to their advantage as a melee hybrid class, and as part of the Blood Knight skills are able to slash, skewer, and ravage nearby enemies with polearms, daggers, or a spear.
In Diablo Immortal, available on Android and PC, you can create a new character to play as the new unholy abomination class or use the Class Change system to transfer an existing character to a Blood Knight.
Will Blood Knight be in Season 1 of Diablo 4?
As of right now, there are no current plans to integrate Blood Knight in Season 1. Just because the Blood Knight is not being added to the new season of Diablo, that doesn’t mean there’s a lack of new content.
The Season of the Malignant will feature new gameplay, Legendary items, and gear as you collect Malignant Hearts to power up your seasonal character and help the former priest of the Cathedral of Light, Cormond, stop the spread of the malignancy that is corrupting the land of Sanctuary after the defeat of Lilith.
You can play the new season as any of the classes already available in Diablo IV:
- Necromancer
- Druid
- Rogue
- Barbarian
- Sorcerer/Sorceress
Unfortunately, no new classes have been revealed to be on track to release in Diablo IV, but the game is just getting started, so there’s still hope for more to come.
