Diablo 4 Season 2 Checklist

Just like when the previous season started, here is a checklist of what you will want to focus on when the second update drops:

  • Download the latest patch – Make sure that your game has updated to the latest patch so you are prepared to dive straight into the blood harvest.
  • Complete the campaign – If you have not completed the main campaign yet, you will need to before you can start enjoying the seasonal content.
  • Complete any leftover Season 1 content – Season 1 will be live for a little while longer so make sure to clear as much as you can.
  • Don’t delete previous characters – Once the next season begins, you can make a new character, and things like map discovery should carry over.

What is coming with Diablo 4 Season 2?

Blizzard released an announcement trailer detailing the story for Diablo 4 Season 2. This trailer gave a glimpse of what is to come in the next season with a new questline, vampiric abilities, and additional endgame bosses that appear in world tiers III and IV. These world bosses also drop unique items and are linked to specific endgame activities such as completing nightmare dungeons.

The following endgame bosses are coming during season 2:

  • Echo of Varshan
  • Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint
  • The Beast of Ice
  • Lord Zir
  • Duriel, King of Maggots

As you progress through the season, you will collect Potent Blood that will allow you to enhance your vampiric abilities. There are 22 abilities to unlock overall and you will be able to have five of these abilities active at any one time. These abilities will offer a new way to play the game and even more crowd-control capabilities.

You can’t simply use these new abilities. You will also need to get your hands on Pact Armor. There are three types of pacts: Eternity, Divinity, and Ferocity. Blizzard has provided examples of these armor pieces with each giving different combinations of the pact types.

  • Lower-tier items will automatically drop as crafting resources on World Tier III and IV
  • Renown rewards will now be account-wide
  • Increase in gold drop rates
  • Faster leveling speed and higher XP drops
  • Overpower damage is a more competitive damage source

Along with these changes, there are various updates to the classes to better balance abilities for the Druid, Rogue, Sorcerer, and other classes. Look out for changes to status effects and elemental resistances that may be coming in the future. There are more details in the patch notes.

With the changes, players will have access to a new battle pass with vampire-themed cosmetics. A new seasonal event, Blood Harvest, will also be available for players to go berserk over.
