Diablo 4 Season 2 – Who is Lord Zir?
Lord Zir is an ancient vampire and the main villain in the storyline of Season 2 of Diablo IV. He is wreaking havoc all over Sanctuary, spreading vampirism and creating minions to do his bidding in his attempt to take over.
There are two boss forms of Lord Zir you’ll encounter in Season 2:
- The story quest final boss
- The world boss in World Tier 4
While you will face off with him as the final boss of the story after completing all the story quests, Lord Zir is also being added as a powerful world boss you can take on in World Tier 4: Torment. This means you can encounter him multiple times during gameplay, instead of just once and in cutscenes. You’ll see him in all his glory so long as you have the best GPU.
Lord Zir has been spreading chaos all over Sanctuary. As he attempts to take over, he is changing others into vampires to do his bidding. Some of these include wanderers like yourself, including rogues, necromancers, barbarians, sorcerers, and druids. You will have to face not only Lord Zir, but his minions and demons as well.
His world boss form is much stronger, as he appears in the highest World Tier level. However, the reward is greater. You’ll get better loot for defeating him here, like gear and weapons.
While Lord Zir doesn’t have any interest in the Eternal Conflict between the High Heavens and Burning Hells, or key players like Inarius, Lilith, and the Prime Evils, he is still a huge threat. He is spreading his bloody evil across the land, and it’s up to you to stop him and his monsters at the launch of Season 2 of Diablo IV.
