An enemy has returned to terrorize players in Diablo 4.

Any Diablo 3 player can tell you about the pain caused by these swarms introduced in Act II. Often referred to as bees by players, but known in the game as Sand Wasps, these bugs have become infamous for their swarm size, speed, and tendency to spawn poisonous offspring, causing any venture into Act II to turn into a bullet hell.

Bees are back in Diablo 4

The bees are back in Diablo 4 and players are at odds with the enemy’s reintroduction.

Now, the Sand Wasps are back, and players are angrily reliving their past bee trauma in Diablo 4. In a post by Reddit user u/deskbunny, they said, “There’s a throwback from getting destroyed by them the first time I set foot in inferno act 2 on Diablo 3, thanks Blizzard.”

Some players claim that the Sand Wasps are slower in speed and fewer in number. Reddit user u/gnigdodtnuoccanab said, “They’re so much less deadly in D4 than they were in D3, if anyone dies to these new neutered bees they weren’t going to make it much further anyway.

While others hold true that the Sand Wasps will forever be the bane of their existence. Reddit user u/Yogeshi86204 commented, “Literally one of the worst things about this game.”

The opinions regarding Sand Wasps have led to a great discussion online about the state of the series and its freshness or lack thereof. One Reddit user claims, “They recycled a lot from D3. Kinda sad.” Other fans have come to the defense of Diablo 4 commenting things like, “It’s set in the same world, of course, it’s going to have the same creatures reappearing.”

Whether or not you fear the Sand Wasps, like any challenge in the Diablo games, they can be conquered by strategy, experimentation, and a sick build.
