Blizzard welcomes all to Hell in the latest release in the bloody Diablo franchise, Diablo IV. There’s plenty to do as you journey across Sanctuary, and you’ll need to have plenty of resources to defeat Lilith.

There are plenty of different currencies you’re going to need, like Platinum, Gems, and Murmuring Obols, but the most common one you’ll need is gold.

If you want to know how to farm gold in Diablo IV, we’re here to help you out.

Diablo 4 – How to farm gold

Gold can be obtained in plenty of ways throughout the open world of Sanctuary, but the most efficient ways are:

  • Selling unwanted items
  • Joining World Events
  • Completing Side Quests
  • Exploring Dungeons and Strongholds

Gold will be necessary for obtaining Legendary items to power up and get upgrades for your character, whether you’re a Necromancer, Druid, Rogue, Barbarian, or Sorcerer. Because this currency is the most bountiful in the game, you’re going to need a lot of it. Luckily, it’s pretty easily found, even from just roaming around the overworld and breaking crates or looking in tree stumps for loot.

The methods listed above will offer plenty for you to hoard if you need a lot of gold fast.

Selling unwanted items at shops is one of the most reliable methods for getting gold fast. Pick up everything you can as you travel around Sanctuary, weapons, armor, and crafting materials. If you can keep it in your inventory, it’s worth taking, because you can sell it for a good amount of gold.

Joining world events and completing side quests will often reward players by giving them gold by the end of the event and quest, and there’s no shortage of them to be found. Most world events only take a few minutes at most to complete, and side quests are often short and simple. They’re worth doing alongside the main storyline quests.

Exploring dungeons and strongholds will also often reward players with gold by their end, and both will have plenty of strong monsters and Elite enemies that will drop gold as you kill them. Dungeons are amped up in the endgame as Nightmare Dungeons, which offer even great rewards, including Legendary Gear and plenty of XP.

Make sure to watch out for Treasure Goblins! They will try and steal your hard-earned gold.
