At the beginning of last season no one would have believed that Real Madrid would finish the season with both the La Liga and Champions League trophy. Despite their history, they somehow always felt like underdogs during their Champions League campaign and what got them through it was their togetherness and quality as a squad.

Real Madrid players are set for some ratings boosts in FIFA 23, especially after a season as strong as that. Every player played their part when they were called upon, each offering something unique to contribute in their own way.

It felt like it was going to take something truly special for Real Madrid to win the Champions League, especially since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. It maybe wasn’t done with as much style this time around, but the result was still the same as they picked up their 14th Champions League.

Real Madrid: Goalkeepers and defenders

Rudiger real amdrid

Thibaut Courtois – 90 (+1)

Andriy Lunin – 75 (+1)

Èder Militão – 83 (+1)

David Alaba – 84 (-)

Antonio Rüdiger – 85 (+2)

Nacho Fernández – 81 (-)

Jesús Vallejo – 75 (-)

Ferland Mendy – 83 (-)

Dani Carvajal – 85 (-)

Álvaro Odriozola – 79 (-)

Lucas Vázquez – 81 (-)

There won’t be too much movement for the defenders on FIFA 23 for Real Madrid, despite just how good they performed last season. It was an incredible team effort and everyone dug deep in order to reach their goals.

David Alaba has always been an exceptional player, but a little underrated by FIFA, so despite him deserving an upgrade after last season it seems unlikely he will get one. Next season will also be Antonio Rüdigers first season for Real Madrid, after a couple of amazing season’s under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.

It remains to be seen how the German international will adjust to playing in a different system under Ancelotti; Rüdiger has excelled as part of a three at Chelsea and deserves a boost to his overall.

Real Madrid: Midfielders

Tchouameni real madrid

Aurélien Tchouameni – 83 (+4)

Federico Valverde – 84 (+1)

Eduardo Camavinga – 79 (+1)

Toni Kroos – 88 (-)

Dani Ceballos – 77 (-)

Luka Modric – 88 (+1)

Reinier – 71 (-)

Real Madrid’s midfield is one of the best in the world and every time you think that must be the last season, they keep on going. Kroos and Modric are both in their 30’s now and are still at the very top.

Modric in particular is playing as good as he ever has, last season he was arguably more consistent across the year then when he won the Ballon d’Or four years ago. He just keeps on getting better and better.

New signing Tchouameni will also be a welcome addition to the squad after an incredible season with AS Monaco, he really put a marker down last season and the move was inevitable. He should see a healthy ratings boost going into FIFA 23.

The old guard of Kroos, Madrid and Casemiro has already been separated, with Casemiro joining Manchester United, so we can expect a new look midfield for Real Madrid in FIFA 23. Although, they may be looking to sign promising Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

If you’re a fan of career mode, some of the young midfielders will be great signings in FIFA 23

Real Madrid: Forwards

Benzema real madrid

Vinicius Junior – 85 (+5)

Eden Hazard – 83 (-2)

Rodrygo – 80 (+1)

Marco Asensio – 83 (-)

Karim Benzema – 91 (+2)

Borja Mayoral – 76 (-)

Mariano Díaz – 75 (-)

After some of the individual campaigns we saw last season there could be some very big boost for a couple of the Real Madrid forwards.

In particular Vinicius Junior caught everybody by surprise, like many of the top forwards he consistently out performed his xG, putting away chances that the season before he would have missed. He should be set for a big boost in FIFA 23

Ballon d’Or favourite Karim Benzema, is also likely to get a boost for the upcoming FIFA, after what was an outstanding season. Last season Benzema finally started to get the recognition he deserved as one of the world’s best and his FIFA 23 rating will reflect that.

If rumours are to be believed, Real Madrid still wish to strengthen their front line going into the upcoming season. Depending on who they sign, Real Madrid will be a lot of fun in FIFA 23

Final thoughts

Winning the Champions League is never going to hurt your FIFA rating, but that combined with dominating your domestic league makes a few upgrades a sure thing. Modric looked at his unbelievable best in the midfield, whilst they have also added one of the biggest prospects in world football with Tchouameni.

Expect to see plenty of Real Madrid in the season’s game mode during FIFA 23, because their depth in midfield, Benzema up top and Vinicius Jr down the wing is terrifying for any opponent.

Since their new signings have come in, manager Carlo Ancelotti has stated they do not need to do any business. It’s now beginning to look increasingly unlikely they do much more in the transfer window. Unless, of course, the perfect opportunity arises that they just can’t avoid.

In FIFA 23, Real Madrid will be a force to be reckoned with once again and are favourites for the league title going into the new season.
