Final Fantasy 16 will follow the mature themes of tragedy and revenge, but many fans of the franchise want to know if it will be an MMO. Of course, a few factors play into this, from the Producer to previous installments.

As mentioned above, Final Fantasy 16 tells the tale of Clive and his companion, Jill Warrick. Clive has sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Eikon Phoenix’s Dominant. However, a great tragedy occurs, and he vows to get revenge on the mysterious dark Eikon Ifrit that will bring calamity in its wake. So, if you’re curious about Final Fantasy 16, find out in this guide if Final Fantasy 16 is an MMO.

Will Final Fantasy 16 be an MMO?

Final Fantasy 16 is not an MMO and will be a single-player action RPG. In Final Fantasy XVI, players will control the protagonist Clive Rosfield as he journeys on a quest for revenge. This will make the gameplay more immersive than your massively multiplayer online game.

Though it is understandable why many players are curious to learn whether the newest Square Enix installment is an MMO, producer Naoki Yoshida has participated in many MMORPGs, such as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and its expansions. As a result, many fans speculated that Final Fantasy 16 would be an MMO. Unfortunately, Final Fantasy 16 will not be an MMO, as it is intended for offline play. However, New Game Plus content will become available after you have completed the main quest.

Though there will be a party system, the combat mechanics are generated mainly by AI. Aside from utilizing your helpful pup Torgal to attack, heal and guide your way. This can be seen as another feature in which you can completely immerse yourself by having hands-on control of Clive as he ventures through Valisthea.
