Throughout traveling through Valisthea, you will find and obtain various materials to upgrade. To get them through traveling, buying them at the merchant, or killing creatures on the battlefield. This guide will detail how to complete the Blacksmith’s Blues side quest in Final Fantasy 16.
Final Fantasy 16 – How do you complete the Blacksmith’s Blues side quest?
The Blacksmith Blues is a side quest you can accept in the Cid’s Hideaway once you begin the main quest, Here Be Monsters. To complete this quest, you must find and defeat the Griffin Dozmare.
To start the quest, you must interact with August in The Mess area and accept the quest. After which, you must speak to Blackthorne at the Black Hammer. You can find Blackthrone on the Main Deck at the Forge.
Once you interact with Blackthorne, you will learn that he is searching for a Leather Cuirass. After this, you must speak to Charon at Charon’s Toll. Unfortunately, you will learn that Charon has sold the Leather Cuirass but knows a leather worker that can assist you.
To find the leather worker, you must go to the Moogle Nektar at the Hunt Board. Here you will learn about the griffin sightings and where to find the Rank A Notorious Mark Dozmare. You can find Dozmare in The Holy Empire of Sanbreque.
Where to find Dozmare in Final Fantasy 16
As mentioned above, Dozmare can be found in The Holy Empire of Sanbreque; you can find him near the Castle’s Wall. To get there, you must Fast Travel to Lostwing Obelisk. Once you have made your way to Lostwing, you must travel to Norvent Valley, and you can do this using your Chocobo Ambrosia.
Now that you have made your way to Norvent Vally, you must go to Caer Norvent River Gate. After you reach the bridge, go to the Castle’s Wall to trigger Dozmare. The Griffin will be a Rank B, Level 28, so ensure that Clive is Level 28 or above when you face him.
Once you have defeated Dozmare, the leather worker Kamil will gift you treated leather as a reward. With this, you can return to the Hideaway and interact with Blackthorne. This will complete the quest. You will receive the following rewards:
- 1x Drakeslayer’s Belt Design Draft
- 250 EXP
- 10x Renown
After you give grumpy Blackthorne the spoils of your battle, you will be rewarded handsomely, and life at the Hideaway will return to normal!
