Clive, the First Shield of Rosaria, must face off against many wrongdoings in his quest for revenge, not only toward himself but Bearer’s as well. Each realm of Valisthea has been blessed with a named Mothercrystal, such as Drake’s Breath, that fuels people’s everyday lives.

Though there is plenty of political strife, Clive and his group must gear up to fight against the legacy of these crystals. In this guide, we will detail Bearer’s in Final Fantasy 16.

What is a Bearer in Final Fantasy 16?

In the latest installment of Square Enix’s popular franchise, Final Fantasy, there is quite a bit to uncover in the land of Valisthea. In the various realms of Valisthea, a select few are called Bearers. These men and women can cast Magicks at their will. These individuals are branded with a tattoo on the left side of their face.

The land of Valisthea has been blessed with Mothercrystals. These crystals have been blessing its inhabitants with aether. As a result, many flock to realms blessed with abundant aether, as it is used in their everyday lives.

However, depending on the realm where a Bearer is born will indicate how they will be treated. In the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, some can use Magick at will and without the aid of an aether who are treated as Slaves. After Clive Rosfield, the protagonist, loses his father and younger brother Joshua Rosfield he is branded as a Bearer.

During the Final Fantasy XVI prologue, we see how those who carry the Bearer mark are treated in the Grand Duchy of Rosaria. It is also seen during the battle at the Dhalmekian Republic, in which Clive and his crew of mere Bearer assassins must obtain the Shiva Dominant. Though subtle as it may be, it has given insight into how ordinary people must use aether to have access to water, while Bearers can produce it at will.
