Many Fortnite mysteries have been solved, but one of them still keeps bothering players. Chapter 1 players still remember the Wailing Woods bunker, but are unsure why it was added to the video game. The bunker was very popular in the early seasons, which is why players want to know what happened to it.

While this is still a mystery to many players, the truth is that we’ve already got an answer for this. Epic Games revealed the purpose of the bunker several times. The last time it happened was during The End event in Chapter 2.

The Fortnite mystery was explained in a live event

The Wailing Woods bunker was a mysterious structure that was in the game for the majority of Chapter 1. The bunker was also added in Chapter 2 but at a different location. However, many players still don’t know why Epic Games added it.

Reddit user andysapplefarmfan1 recently asked if players ever got an explanation for the bunker. The post has received a lot of attention, and the user got several useful answers.

The purpose of the bunker was explained in both Fortnite x DC comics and The End live event. The mysterious structure serves as an entrance to the Bridge, the main headquarters of the Imagined Order. Players who witnessed The End event in Chapter 2 had a chance to get inside the bunker.

Additionally, this could be the bunker that Peely and Jonesy used to escape the volcano eruption in Season 8. The bunker can be seen in the Season 9 trailer, although it’s hard to tell if it’s the bunker located at Wailing Woods.

While the location of the Bridge in Chapter 1 is unknown, it was likely built under the Wailing Woods bunker. Unfortunately, while we know the purpose of the bunker, we never got a chance to see it in action during the first chapter.
