A Soldier’s March is a side quest in Horizon Forbidden West that involves the side character Penttoh. The young soldier wants to prove to himself that he is worthy by participating in the March of the Ten but the brutal challenge might be too much for him. Aloy needs to step in and help him out so he succeeds. The quest unlocks after you finish Wings of the Ten in the campaign.

How to Complete A Soldier’s March in Horizon Forbidden West

To start the quest, you need to head to the start of the climb where soldiers begin the March of the Ten. You will find two soldiers arguing, which leads you to Wekatta. As you make your way up, you will need to talk to Wekatta and kill the machine that is blocking your path.

It is up to Aloy to save Penttoh, but he is insistent on completing the ritual. Players have to scan for Penttoh’s tracks and climb the mountain to ensure he is safe. They will have to keep following him and help him take down the machines that are in his path. Eventually, they will have to fight a Fireclaw and should use frost damage to land heavy damage.

Once Penttoh is able to climb up the mountain and get the flower he needs, he will have to complete the March of the Ten. Talk to him after he completes the climb and return to Wekatta for your rewards. After some conversation, the mission will be over.

Once you complete the quest, you will receive 4,500 XP, two skill points, and the Tenakth Tactician Face Paint. The quest requires Aloy to be level 18 and it is one of the easier side quests in the game that you can complete to get access to some early skill upgrades.
