There are two ways you can accomplish this feat. The first is by repairing the piece of Gear yourself or finding a Mender to do it for you. Let’s start with the easiest method of repairing your Gear.
How to use Mender to repair equipment in FFXIV
Finding Mender is easy:
- You can identify the Mender NPC by the Hammer icon above their head.
- Interact with them to activate the Repairs crafting box.
- You can then choose what type of Gear you want to repair, your Equipped Gear, Armoury Chests, and Inventory.
- These repairs will cost you various amounts of Gil.
How to repair your own equipment in FFXIV
This is the most convenient way to repair your Gear or armor. However, a few requirements will be needed before you can do so. Before repairing your Gear, you must check the Gear’s Condition and the Repair Level Materials.
- To repair your Gear, go into your Main Menu and select Character.
- Now, select the item you want to repair.
- Right-click on the item, and select Repair
- A Repair box will then pop up, and you will see what Condition, Class, and Dark Matter is required to repair the item.
- After this, you can select Repair All.
To repair a piece of equipment, you must take note of the Disciples of the Hands. There are eight jobs: Goldsmith, Carpenter, Blacksmith, Armorer, Leatherworker, Weaver, Alchemist, and Culinarian. Each Gear will require that you be at a specific level to repair it.
In addition, it will also require you to have a specific Grade of Dark Matter. There are various grades of Dark Matter; there are eight grades in total. The Dark Matter can be purchased at a Merchant and Mender or your Quartermaster. You can also obtain them from quests.
