Chocobo companions are a means of transportation, combat, and a great defender in Final Fantasy. However, before basking in the glory of the big bird, you must first complete its side quest. So, to get your very own big bird, follow this guide on how to summon Chocobo in Final Fantasy XIV.
FFXIV – How to summon Chocobo
You need a Chocobo Whistle to summon Chocobo in Final Fantasy XIV. Once you have your whistle, Here’s how you do it.
- First, enter your Inventory, and look for the Company Chocobo icon.
- Once you click on it, it will summon your Chocobo.
After this, your Chocobo Whistle will be in your Companions Menu within your mount collection. Once at least level 30, you can train your Chocobo to fight alongside you. However, you must complete the My Feisty Little Chocobo quest to do that.
How do you unlock a Chocobo in Final Fantasy XIV?
To summon your Chocobo, complete the Hero in the Making quest first. After this, you can unlock the Lv 20 side quest called My Little Chocobo. To start this quest, you must advance through the main story quests first and speak to your Grand Company Commander. Below are the quest givers from the respective Grand Companies:
- Twin Adder- Vorsaile Heuloix
- Maelstrom – R’ashaht Rhiki
- Immortal Flames – Swift
You must purchase a Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster for 200 Grand Company Seals in this quest. So, head to your Quartermaster, select Private Second Class, and enter the Materials menu.
From here, you can buy the Chocobo Issuance. Now with the documentation in hand, you must go to the Chocobokeep. You can find one in Ul’ dah – Steps of Nald in the Thanalan region or New Gridania in The Black Shroud region.
Once there, give the Chocobo Porter at the Chocobo Stable the Chocobo Issuance, and they will provide you with the Chocobo mount. Now with your new Chocobo, you must give it a name. After you have completed these steps, you will receive a Chocobo Whistle.
