Paradox Interactive has a huge history of putting together high-quality 4X strategy games and Imperator: Rome is no exception to that fact. The game puts you in control of building your own Roman empire, though with the potential for you to bring about the fall a few centuries too early. Enable the Console
In the latest version of the game, you’ll have to make a minor change before you can actually use the console. If you’re on Steam, you can right-click the game in your Library, then select properties and put the code below in the Launch Options field. For a standalone version of the game, find the game executable, right-click it and create a shortcut. Now right-click the shortcut and hit properties, then add the code to the end of the ‘target’ field with a line after the last character.

As well as the cheat commands that you can use, there are a bunch of commands that fall more into the realm of utilities. This first set of commands will probably be a bit destructive to your gameplay experience, but it shouldn’t change it too much. Just remember, you could ruin your saves with any console commands, so back them up before you get started if you want to be safe.

The commands listed below have an even bigger chance of changing your gameplay experience than the ones before, so be prepared for the game to lose all challenge.
