Sons of the Forest has an early access release date for the 23rd of February 2023, after a long saga of setbacks and rescheduling. The early access in question will be launching only for PC players currently, but is Sons of the Forest coming to Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One anytime soon?
Unfortunately, it’s likely that the Xbox will not receive Sons of the Forest, with no indication from Endnight Games that this is even in the works.

As the early access draws nearer and nearer, there’s still no news to suggest Sons of the Forest will be on Xbox Series X/S.

Again, unfortunately, we don’t have any official news. This is largely due to the fact that developers have claimed that the are keeping the game in early access for 6-8 months.
This means that news is rather stagnant at this time. However, The Forest made it’s way to PlayStation 4, so it is entirely possible.
Will Sons of the Forest be on console?
Whilst it’s still not known However, a console release seems likely as The Forest joined PS4 and Xbox One. However, a next-gen release might be less feasible because of this, unless they built Sons of the Forest completely from scratch.
In its early access stage, Sons of the Forest will not be available for any consoles. This includes PS4, PS5, or Xbox.
The overview on Steam says the plan is for the game to remain in early access for 6-8 months, meaning a full release could arrive by October this year.

Is Sons of the Forest a sequel or a prequel?
There has been nothing released to date that suggests that Sons of the Forest will be set before events in The Forest.
There are a few theories flying around that it could run along a similar timeline and feature more of Timmy, the child that went missing after the plane crash in the original game but our money is that the game will arrive and be set as a traditional sequel, set a period of time after the end of The Forest.

Developer Endnight Games has confirmed that Sons of the Forest “is playable in both single-player and multiplayer with up to 8 players”
