As players are getting into the Diablo 4 beta events, they are noticing something is missing. While we have many of the classic classes returning as well as a few new classes to play around with. However, the Demon Hunter was missing from the roster and seemingly replaced. Let’s go over if the Demon Hunter is in Diablo 4.
Can You Play As A Demon Hunter In Diablo 4?
While the Demon Hunter is no longer a class it is spiritually still playable as the new Rouge class. Both the Rouge and Demon Hunter operate the same way, but by changing the Demon Hunter out for Rouge, we have more possibilities for builds to run with the class.
So while you can’t play directly as a Demon Hunter anymore, the Rouge will still offer the same playstyle that the Demon Hunter featured. You can even choose to turn your Rouge into a Demon Hunter by picking similar skills to what Demon Hunter had.
The Rouge stills use similar weapons to the Demon Hunter but offer more varied skills and abilities than the Demon Hunter ever did. This class change almost seems to be bringing the Diablo class more in line with base class ideas rather than specializations.
If we compare the current classes with the classes available in Diablo 3, we can see this shift. We went from having the Witch Doctor, Wizard, and Demon Hunter to getting a Druid, a Sorcerer, and a Rouge.
If you are still a bit on the fence about trying out Rouge in place of Demon Hunter, you might want to take the opportunity during the Server Slam to make a Rouge and play it for yourself. Since nothing will carry over, you don’t lose anything by testing out different classes from what you plan to play.
