How do you use Soulflay in Lords of the Fallen? Soulflay is a powerful ability that you have access to and one that is needed if you want to traverse the Umbral realms in this soulslike game. You can perform this ability thanks to your trusty Umbral Lamp.
Oftentimes, you will come across obstacles in Axiom that can only be avoided by consuming a Soulflay Charge and destroying something in the Umbral Realm. Make use of this ability that Hexworks added to the game with friends to help them out as well.

Lords of the Fallen – How to use Soulflay
To use Soulflay in Lords of the Fallen, raise your Umbral Lamp by holding the Left Trigger on Xbox, L2 on PlayStation, or CTRL on PC. With your lantern raised, hold the Right Trigger, R2, or the Left Mouse Button. This move can only be performed on specific enemies or interactable objects in the environment.
Soul Flaying works on the following:
- Enemies – Mainly weaker enemies that can have their souls pulled out. This allows you to inflict wither damage on foes. While a soul is removed, the health bar of the enemy will become withered health.
- Umbral Ghosts – Using Soulflay here will allow you to uncover hidden secrets and lore bits.
- Infused enemies and obstacles – Soulflay allows you to interact with the environment. Some areas can spawn new means of traversal like stairs, ramps, ladders, and doors.
If you Soulflay enemies, the environment, or ghosts, you will consume Soulflat Charges. While using the move is useful to stagger foes and traverse the realms, you need to recover these charges if you want to continue using it.
To obtain Soul Flay Charges, you need to siphon energy from the Umbral Realm. This is done by interacting with Umbral Blisters and entities that appear on walls or on enemies in the Umbral Realm. Using your Umbral Lantern, you can see these entities and obtain power from them.
