In Madden 24, players have unique abilities. Quite a lot of athletes have talents that show up in the form of Superstar abilities. Running backs, wide receivers, the quarterback, linebackers, tight ends and more can get these abilities in franchise mode. In head-to-head, a lot of players already have them.

They differ by position and they do different things. Naturally, some Madden NFL superstar abilities are better than others whether in Ultimate Team, Franchise or Head-to-Head. Here are the best abilities in Madden 24.

What are the best Superstar abilities in Madden 24?

The best superstar ability for a quarterback is Gunslinger. With this ability, the QB has increased pass animation speed as well as a larger threshold before using the long “Hail Mary” windup animation. With this, you can throw the ball further down the field without giving the pass-rushers that extra time to make a play. It doesn’t improve accuracy, though. Set Feet Lead, Gutsy Scrambler, Extender, Pass Lead Elite, and Sideline Deadeye are good to have as well.

A great superstar ability for running backs is Backfield Master. This means that when a player is lined up in the backfield (usually the halfback), this ability grants them access to four more hot routes, increased route running attributes, and improved catching against linebackers and linemen. Juke Box, Bruiser, and Freight Train work well, too.

For a pass-catcher (WR, TE, or even HB sometimes), the Route Apprentice ability is excellent. Like Backfield Master, this grants four extra hot routes. This time, it doesn’t matter where they line up on the field. Short Out Elite is another good one for this position as it improves catching within 10 yards. Route Technician, Slot-O-Matic, Acrobat, Red Zone Threat, and Matchup Nightmare are other good ones.

On defense, linebackers benefit the most from the Lurker ability. Defenders with this ability can make leaping, twisting interceptions while lurking in zone coverage in the middle of the field. This is great for fans of zone defense. Blitz, Stuffer, and Strip Specialist are great, too.

On the defensive line, Tackle Supreme is very useful. This ability gives players better dive tackling. They are rarely faked out by ballcarrier moves, and they can’t be faked out when user-controlled. Momentum Shifts and El Toro are strong as well.

In the secondary, Deep Route KO is probably the best. Cornerbacks and safeties with this ability force more catch-tackle knockouts in man coverage against deep routes that are 20+ yards from the line of scrimmage. Pick Artist, Shutdown, and Deep Out Zone KO are also good.

Note: These differ from X-Factors. Those are only afforded to the best of the best, such as Patrick Mahomes, Justin Jefferson, Derrick Henry, Davante Adams, Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett, Josh Allen, and others. Those players also have Superstar abilities, but they also have a special skill that can be activated. That’s not the case for superstar abilities, which are always present.
