Madden 24 is back with a ton of available players. If you wanted to build an NFL roster with free agents, you could. You have free reign to do almost whatever you want with a team, whether in franchise mode or not. That has many Madden NFL fans wondering if a former fan favorite free agent is still available in the game. Is Cam Newton available?
Can I get Cam Newton in Madden 24?
No, Cam Newton is not a free agent in Madden 24. He is completely absent from the game this year, which is a bit of a surprise. He’s not officially retired, and many believe a comeback could be on the horizon. If that happens, EA Sports would likely add him back to the game. For now, he’s not there. I went in to the game files to see if he was there for Madden Franchise Mode to sign him as a backup. He wasn’t. and he’s not there in the free agents section off the main menu, either. As you can see below, he’s nowhere to be found on the free agent QB list. Even a couple of other former Panthers are (Matt Corrall and PJ Walker), but Newton is not.
For a long time, the former Carolina Panthers QB was one of the most electric players in the game. Newton had an imposing presence in the run game and could throw the deep ball just as well. He was an excellent mobile passer. This made him one of the best true dual threat quarterbacks, and many Madden players liked using him.
He had excellent ratings in several categories, like:
- JKM (Juke Move)
- SAC (Short Throw Accuracy)
- STR (Strength)
- ACC (Acceleration)
- SPD (Speed)
- AGI (Agility)
- BCV (Ball Carrier Vision)
- SPM (Spin Move)
- PAC (Play Action)
- TRK (Truck)
- THP (Throw Power)
Those days are gone, and his OVR rating was on the downswing. Nevertheless, he’s still technically a part of the NFL, so he may be back in Madden at some point. Additionally, he could be in Madden Ultimate Team this year.
MUT doesn’t always feature active players. They frequently introduce sets for historical players. While Newton certainly isn’t historic having last played in 2021, he is a possible option for a future set.
He’s been involved in tons of sets in the past, like Most Feared, Ghosts of Madden, and many more. If they bring back the Ghost set, there’s a good chance he could be given a card. EA likes to give players plenty of options for theme teams, and the two main options for QB for a Panthers team would be Bryce Young and Cam Newton, so he has a chance to return in that facet.
The former NFC Champion, however, is not available in any way, shape, or form unless players create their own player and model it after the MVP. This is true for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players.
