Madden 24 has returned with Franchise Mode, which means the possibilities are rather endless. Players can take an existing franchise and completely remake them, run their favorite team to the Super Bowl, and so much more. Part of that could be a complete redraft of the NFL, which many players enjoy doing. Here’s your official Madden 24 Fantasy Draft Guide.

How do I fantasy draft in Madden 24?

To do a fantasy draft in Madden 24, you must first enter franchise mode from the main menu. From there, start a new file with your chosen team. Keep in mind that you won’t really have the players, so you may want to pick based on logo or uniform unless you plan on relocating the team.

Be sure to set it to fantasy draft when it asks what rosters to use. The new league you’re starting should not have active rosters. This will allow you to completely redo the NFL and have players like Josh Allen on the Las Vegas Raiders, or Lamar Jackson with the Miami Dolphins.

The fantasy draft order in Madden NFL is random, so you may be forced to try and start over until you get a good pick (unless you’re doing online fantasy drafts with friends). It is a snake draft, so it’s fair, but if you’re picking 30th, it’s hard to get a true superstar. Your best player could end up being a 94 overall tight end, for example. That’s not all that ideal. From there, start fantasy draft and enjoy.

Either way, this franchise mode gimmick allows you to pick your entire 53-man roster. The QB, WRs, TE, RB, offensive line, and entire defense can be brand new. With that in mind, it’s best to set your team up to win. That generally means building up the offense.

You need a quarterback to win. Those are always among the first players to go in fantasy drafts, and you should target younger ones like Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, or Justin Herbert. For skill positions, youth is valuable unless you’re getting someone like Travis Kelce, Davante Adams, or Stefon Diggs who are just so good that it doesn’t matter how old they are.

Another thing to keep in mind when building a team from scratch is that the offensive line is incredibly important. Top rated players are fun, but the offensive linemen are probably more important. Blocking is the key to an offense, so even though it’s not as sexy, build up that offensive line with talented players.

Defense is important, but teams win with bad defenses all the time- especially in Madden. It’s good to have playmakers on that side of the ball, so look for top rated cornerbacks and edge rushers as they’re the most impactful defenders.

Fantasy drafts are somewhat like Ultimate Team in that it ends up being a lineup of random position with random players from all across the league. Be sure to keep your positions in mind and don’t get a good backup tight end before you have a starting level defensive tackle, for example.
