Before Madden 24, the relocation option in Franchise Mode was pretty barren. Unless you set out to change a franchise in this manner, it was largely not worth exploring at all. There were only a few cities, and none of them were all that enticing to players. The stadium redesign and other aspects were lackluster, too.

Enter Madden 24, which is when EA Sports decided to change that. They heard the community complaints and overhauled the franchise mode. The biggest changes came in the relocation, which includes a lot of new cities. Here’s where you can go with your team in Madden 24.

How to relocate in Madden 24

Relocating in Madden 24 is not that simple, but you can begin the process by going to the “Manage Team” option on the main page of Franchise mode. Then, there is a “Stadium” option. Within it, you can press to relocate and start the grueling relocation process. This is only possible if you’re a coach in franchise mode. It won’t happen in one season, but it’s possible for the next season. You will then begin looking at uniform combinations, picking a team name, and more.

Where can I relocate to in Madden NFL 24 franchise mode?

Right now, there are 13 new cities across the globe that Madden 24 franchises can be relocated to. They are as follows:

  • Anchorage, Alaska
  •  Buenos Aires, Argentina
  •  Canton, USA
  •  Honolulu, Hawaii
  •  Louisville, USA
  •  Melbourne, Australia
  •  Montreal, Canada
  •  Omaha, USA
  •  Paris, France
  •  Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
  •  San Juan, Puerto Rico
  •  Tokyo, Japan
  •  Virginia Beach, USA

This is very different from Madden 23, where players could relocate to London, Mexico City, Toronto, San Antonio, Orlando, and a few other places. Madden 23 also had more cities available than previous entries, so it’s been a steady climb. Now, all new cities have joined Austin, Texas as well as cities in Nebraska, Oklahoma, New York, Utah, Florida, Missouri, Oregon and more.

Not all teams can be relocated to a new city, though. Fans have to be unhappy and the stadium can’t be state-of-the-art or brand new. Over time, it’s easier to relocate franchises, but some can likely be moved right away.

These include the Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, and Denver Broncos. Three teams you can relocate instantly in Madden 24 include:

  • Tennessee Titans (10 stadium, Bad Happiness rating)
  • Buffalo Bills (11 stadium, Bad Happiness rating)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (14 stadium, Bad Happiness rating)

10 potential relocation teams that can move with ease are as follows:

  • Green Bay Packers (20 Stadium, Bad Happiness)
  • New Orleans Saints (22 Stadium, Bad Happiness)
  • Houston Texans (22 Stadium, Ok Happiness)
  • Washington Commanders (23 Stadium, Ok Happiness)
  • Cincinnati Bengals (26 Stadium, Bad Happiness)
  • Cleveland Browns (26 Stadium, Bad Happiness)
  • Detroit Lions (28 Stadium, Bad Happiness)
  • Kansas City Chiefs (29 Stadium, Fair Happiness)
  • New England Patriots (29 Stadium, Fair Happiness)
  • Denver Broncos (32 Stadium, Fair Happiness)

Six NFL teams that have high happiness and would thus be difficult to move include:

  • Los Angeles Chargers (99 Stadium, High Happiness rating)
  • Las Vegas Raiders (99 Stadium, High Happiness rating)
  • Atlanta Falcons (95 Stadium, High Happiness rating)

If you’re interested in starting an NFL franchise in a new city, consider one of the above options for your first Franchise Mode playthrough in Madden NFL 24. The NFL has visited some of these locations, like London and Mexico City, as they try to expand the game globally.

Virtually, Madden 24 is allowing players to take the league to the world by moving a team there. The logistics of such a move can be ignored in a video game, which is why it’s easy to move the Green Bay Packers to Paris if you so choose.

Relocating teams, whether to Albuquerque, New Mexico, or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, comes with new uniforms, new logos, new caps, and more. New team name choices include:

  • Wizards
  • Elks
  • Aviators
  • Sentinels
  • Tigers
  • Dreadnoughts
  • Condors
  • Bulls
  • Orbits
  • Huskies
  • Antlers
  • Golden Eagles
  • Steamers
  • Redwoods
  • Bison
  • Lumberjacks
  • Armadillos
  • Shamrocks
  • Thunderbirds
  • Voyagers
  • Crusaders
  • Bulldogs
  • Gunners
  • Lancers
  • Explorers
  • Flyers
  • Pioneers
  • Monarchs
  • Mounties
  • Black Knights
  • Cougars

The particular city you choose doesn’t matter much for the mascot options. Team branding is important, so choose the right one. Previously, cities had three options for the name. Now, you can choose any name with any city, with one exception. The Oilers are restricted to Houston teams. The uniform set, market size, logo choice, and everything else can also be totally up to you.

Madden 24 is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4.
