Who are the best cornerbacks in Madden NFL 24?

Here are the 10 best cornerbacks in Madden NFL 24. These players can cover endlessly, making life easier for defensive linemen. Honorable mentions include James Bradberry, Kendall Fuller, Patrick Peterson, Chidobe Awuzie, Tariq Woolen, Trevon Diggs, and others. All ratings below were revealed by EA’s official Madden NFL 24 rating page:

  1. Denzel Ward – 88 OVR
  2. Marshon Lattimore – 90 OVR
  3. Tre’Davious White – 90 OVR
  4. Stephon Gilmore- 91 OVR
  5. Darius Slay Jr. – 92 OVR
  6. Marlon Humphrey – 93 OVR
  7. Sauce Gardner – 93 OVR
  8. Patrick Surtain II – 94 OVR
  9. Jaire Alexander – 95 OVR
  10. Jalen Ramsey – 97 OVR

Below we’ll go over each player in detail.

10) Denzel Ward – 88 OVR

Denzel Ward of the Cleveland Browns opens up the top 10 cornerbacks. He’s a great player and part of the reason the Browns usually feature a good defense. He’s still pretty young, so he’s got plenty of room to continue rising this list.

9) Marshon Lattimore – 90 OVR

Marshon Lattimore is known for getting under wide receivers’ skin. Part of what allows him to do that, and what flusters his opponents so, is his exceptional talent. The New Orleans Saints star is one of the best ballhawks in the game and he’s capable of keeping up with all wide receivers and tight ends in the game. If running backs come out of the backfield, Lattimore can take them on as well.

8) Tre’Davious White – 90 OVR

Tre’Davious White is part of the excellent Buffalo Bills’ secondary, which features two of the top 10 safeties. He’s blossomed into a genuine star cornerback who is capable of going toe-to-toe with pretty much any pass-catcher.

7) Stephon Gilmore – 91 OVR

Stephon Gilmore is probably not the same cornerback he was in his prime, evidenced by his seeming inability to stick to a team. Nevertheless, he is still a great player and his 91 overall rating in the latest offering from EA Sports confirms it. The Dallas Cowboys got a good one.

6) Darius Slay Jr. – 92 OVR

Ignoring the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles had an elite secondary last year and much of that was due to the play of Darius Slay Jr. Now with the Detroit Lions, he will look to improve their dismal secondary. He suffered an injury but should be good to go and will again be a top Madden player.

5) Marlon Humphrey – 93 OVR

Marlon Humphrey is an elite cornerback. The Baltimore Ravens star has been consistent for years and emerged as a reliable player on the back end of their defense. The AFC North is full of great wide receivers, but Humphrey is more than up to the task in either man coverage or zone coverage.

4) Sauce Gardner – 93 OVR

Sauce Gardner took the NFL world by storm in his rookie season. To be the fourth-best-rated player at any position after just one season is incredible. He anchored the New York Jets’ defense by effectively shutting down one side of the field and nabbing interceptions with ease.

3) Patrick Surtain II – 94 OVR

Patrick Surtain II is one of the youngest cornerbacks in the league having been drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2021. Nevertheless, he’s emerging as one of the best cornerbacks in the league. The Broncos usually have good corners, and they’re going to be led by Surtain for a very long time. He can intercept a pass, and if he gives up receptions, he can also force fumbles, so he’s an all-around threat on defense. Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and the rest of the AFC West have a tough opponent to deal with twice a year.

2) Jaire Alexander – 95 OVR

Jaire Alexander made waves for being able to shut down Justin Jefferson, who comes into the latest Madden as a 99 OVR. There’s good reason for that, as it’s borderline impossible to keep Jefferson locked down. Doing so requires an elite cornerback and that’s what Alexander is for the Green Bay Packers.

1) Jalen Ramsey – 97 OVR

Jalen Ramsey, despite now being on his third team (from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Los Angeles Rams and now the Miami Dolphins), remains a supreme talent in the secondary. He matches up with the other team’s best wide receiver almost exclusively, and he usually wins the matchup. It’s rare to see Ramsey get beat by anyone, and most quarterbacks try to find where he’s lined up and avoid that area if at all possible.
