An edge rusher in Madden 24 is an extremely important player. This is a relatively new designation that refers to a couple of different positions. It refers to a player who rushes the quarterback from the edge of the defensive line as opposed to the interior. That means that, depending on the system a team uses, an outside linebacker or defensive end can be an edge. Here are the best at those spots in Madden.

Who are the best edge rushers in Madden 24?
Note that this doesn’t include players like Aaron Donald, Rashan Gary, and more who play one of the aforementioned spots since they’re interior linemen in 3-4 defenses. Honorable mentions include Khalil Mack, Cameron Jordan, Brian Burns, Trey Hendrickson, and others. All player ratings below were revealed by EA’s official Madden NFL 24 rating page.
- Matthew Judon – 89 OVR
- Haason Reddick – 90 OVR
- Demarcus Lawrence – 90 OVR
- Joey Bosa – 91 OVR
- Von Miller – 94 OVR
- TJ Watt – 94 OVR
- Maxx Crosby – 94 OVR
- Micah Parsons – 97 OVR
- Nick Bosa – 98 OVR
- Myles Garrett – 98 OVR
10) Matthew Judon – 89 OVR
Matthew Judon was a bona fide Defensive Player of the Year candidate for much of last season. With the New England Patriots, he was an excellent pass rusher at the left outside linebacker (LOLB) position. He could get after the quarterback very well and his 89 overall reflects that.
9) Haason Reddick – 90 OVR
Haason Reddick has become a bit of a journeyman over the years, playing for three teams in the last four years (now with the Philadelphia Eagles). That is not an indictment of his talent, though. He is one of the most talented edge rushers from any linebackers spot in the entire game and he’ll be very reliable in Madden.
8) Demarcus Lawrence – 90 OVR
Demarcus Lawrence is a prototypical left defensive end (LE). He rushes the passer and disrupts the offensive line. To those ends, there are very few better Madden 24 players at this position. He and another Dallas Cowboys defensive end make for a dynamic edge-rushing duo.
7) Joey Bosa – 91 OVR
Joey Bosa wreaks havoc on the quarterback from his LOLB position with the Los Angeles Chargers. He has been one of the most prolific rushers in the NFL since he entered the league and his stellar Madden rating proves as much.
6) Von Miller – 94 OVR
Von Miller might be one of the oldest pass rushers in the game, but the Buffalo Bills LOLB is still getting after quarterbacks like very few others. He has some of the most iconic sacks in NFL history and to this day remains a genuine threat that offenses have to counter.
5) TJ Watt – 94 OVR
TJ Watt is a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate. The Pittsburgh Steelers LOLB can get past pretty much any offensive lineman and routinely makes huge plays. He’s constantly in the backfield pressuring the quarterback and helping the Steelers employ one of the league’s best defenses.
4) Maxx Crosby – 94 OVR
The Las Vegas Raiders’ defense was incredibly lackluster last season, but that has nothing to do with the exceptional LOLB that is Maxx Crosby. The pass rusher plays in a division with some of the best quarterbacks in the league, but he’s routinely making life difficult for them. His 94 overall rating is well-earned.
3) Micah Parsons – 97 OVR
Micah Parsons was a unique hybrid linebacker, capable of rushing the passer and dropping back to make tackles or cover receivers. Now, he’s transitioning to full-time right defensive end (RE). That’s bad news for any quarterbacks on the Cowboys’ schedule.
2) Nick Bosa – 98 OVR
Nick Bosa is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and one of the most challenging REs to play against. It doesn’t matter what any offensive lineman does. If they’re matched up with the San Francisco 49ers star, he’s going to end up in the backfield making a play.
1) Myles Garrett – 98 OVR
Myles Garrett was the number one overall selection in 2017 and he’s done nothing but prove the Cleveland Browns right since then. He is always one of the best edge rushers from his RE position, and his stellar Madden NFL rating proves that.
