Are you looking for how to turn on Skill-Based Passing in Madden 24? Look no further, we’ve got the answer right here for you.

How to turn on Skill Based Passing in Madden 24

Turning on Skill-Based Passing is easy in Madden 24, all you need to do is:

  • Head into Settings
  • Navigate to Controls
  • Scroll down to find the Skill-Based Passing toggle
  • Toggle it for either power or accuracy

This will allow you to turn on Skill-Based Passing in-game. However, the game also prompts you to select and try out a skill-based passing method when you first open the game. Whatever you select can be changed later by the above method. This will help you tackle your training and become the best passer on any offense in Madden. The defense won’t know how to adjust. Free Form passing is a little more challenging, but is another way to control how you throw.

What is Skill Based Passing in Madden 24?

Skill-Based Passing is a feature that comes with FieldSENSE that allows passing to be more accurate from your own reactions in the gameplay system. Instead of just pressing a button, this mechanic allows you to adjust the direction, momentum, and target area of a pass using the thumbsticks and whether you repeatedly tap or hold the button. It’s on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5. It’s part of the added realism, since some quarterbacks throw with better accuracy or power. Regardless, they always have control over how hard and where they place a throw. There are also new no look pass animations.

These adjustments include two methods, Placement, and Placement and Accuracy. They function pretty similarly, but Place and Accuracy gives you a bit more control by using a needle on a meter to determine whether the pass makes it. It also allows modifies the placement of slightly inaccurate passes, to allow them to still be caught with dive catches. This alleviates frustration for players, as well.

You can do this by using the reticle on screen to place the ball exactly where you think it needs to be, including leading them to the sideline, upfield, or outside the ellipse. Your receiver can then leap to catch it and try to avoid defenders who do have new tackle animations.

What advantages does skill based passing have in Madden 24?

Skill-Based Passing has advantages like making the AI more lifelike, and the ball carrier more under your control. There are plenty of pass types, like Bullet Pass, Touch Pass, High Pass, and the new Jump and Dive Pass, all of which can be seen in Madden 24. This gives you plenty of ways to enjoy the new throw animations and revamped catching system.

Drop back with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and company and throw the pass exactly how and where you want, and hit that wide receiver in stride to get them an easy touchdown. Skill-based passing affects franchise mode, Face of the Franchise (last-gen), Superstar Showdown (next-gen), mini-game modes, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

Much of these features were fine tuned in the beta, with feedback from fans proving to be vital. Now, in the full launch, they’re used to perfection to accurately mirror real life with new logic.
