Madden 24 is slated for release in the middle of August. Ahead of that date, it is vital to know which platform to get it on. If you don’t get the game for the right console, either the Deluxe Edition or the Standard Edition, you will be out of luck.
If you’re playing on an Xbox One, you need to get that version, and so on. Therefore, it is equally as important to know all platforms the game is on so you can know if it’s on yours or which one of your multiple platforms to choose from. Does Steam Deck, the handheld gaming console, have Madden 24?

Is Madden 24 on Steam Deck?
In short, Madden 24 is not truly available on the Steam Deck. That console is the official one of Steam, the gaming service. Therefore, all games that are available on Steam, which Madden is, are playable on the console based on that rule. However, since some had their Steam Deck Verification removed, they can’t be played. EA also has an anti-cheat that doesn’t work with the Deck.
There are workarounds, though. Fixes are on their way from Valve, but currently, the Proton Experimental version in the Steam Deck’s settings has worked best for games that are not Steam Deck Verified.
However, if a workaround does work, the game won’t be as strong as the game can be on other platforms. Steam Deck is not considered next-gen, as Valve Corporation has plans to eventually make a new one with significantly more powerful hardware. The Steam Deck does not require Linux or the EA App. It doesn’t even technically require a gaming PC, though that’s always helpful.
It’s considered with the Xbox Ones and PlayStation 4s of the world, but it’s not considered stronger than them. It can certainly be played, but it may be less ideal than playing franchise, MUT, or Superstar mode on a PC or PlayStation 5.
Steam Deck is not an old console as it came out in 2022. Therefore, there shouldn’t be too many issues with the game running slowly or poorly. Still, it’s important to note that it is considered last-gen and thus any version of Madden NFL on the console does not have cross-play or cross-progression.
It also wouldn’t have smarter AI, enhanced SAPIEN technology or FieldSENSE, realistic player movements, or better NFL player realism. Ideally, the Madden NFL 24 game will be played on any other console.
