Historically, Madden 24 has been accessible on a lot of different platforms, ranging from Nintendo’s console to a PC and everything in between. In August, as usual, several different consoles and platforms will have access to the game. Will the Xbox One be one of them?

With the introduction of the Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox One is slowly becoming obsolete. This happens in the life of every video game console. Many games have already moved on to being strictly next-gen versions. Is Madden 24 one of them?

Will Madden 24 come out on Xbox One?

Madden 24 will be available for Xbox One. It is one of the six gaming platforms that will have access to EA Sports’ latest football game. The two generations of Xbox are still technically active, so the One will have a release for Madden.

Eventually, the Xbox One will not have new games. Starfield, for example, is exclusively for next-gen Xboxes. Others will follow suit in the coming months and years. For now, the Madden NFL franchise has not gone down that route.

It’s in EA’s best interest to keep as wide an audience as possible. While it is difficult for developers to include some features for next-gen gamers and exclude them from another version of the game, a lot of players will purchase for Xbox One, making it worth their while.

Xbox One gamers will be able to play the latest entry into the Madden franchise, but they will not have access to certain features that Xbox Series X|S players will. The main feature they’ll miss out on is cross-play.

Can you play Madden 24 on Xbox One?

Yes, you can play Madden 24 on Xbox One with a variation or two on the gameplay. Naturally, the game won’t be as smooth or upgraded on an older, weaker device.

The Xbox One version of Madden will also limit online play to only those also playing on that console, whereas the Xbox Series X|S edition will be able to connect with PC and PlayStation 5 games.

The next-gen version also has updated features that Xbox Ones can’t handle. These include realistic player movement, smarter AI, Sapien Technology, upgraded FieldSense, NFL player realism, greater control, and more enhancements.

For the most part, all Xbox One game modes are the same as the next-gen ones, so players aren’t missing out on a portion of the game.

Finally, the last main difference between the two versions of the game is that there’s no 3-day early access on the One. Electronic Arts has released a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition of both which come with pre-order rewards, but early access can’t be earned with a pre-purchase of this version.
