The next wave for the Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass is upon us, with two new cups to be added for a grand total of eight maps.

It’s been a while since Wave 4 released and added fan-favorite Birdo to the lineup, and fans are eager to have the newest wave added for plenty of kart racing fun.

Here are the confirmations for what can be found in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Wave 5.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC – Wave 5 release date

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 5 will release on July 12, 2023, per a tweet from Nintendo.

Each wave of DLC has been added around four months apart from the other, and with Wave 4 being added on March 9, this release is right on time with the other additions to the Booster Course Pass.

Nintendo has confirmed that we’ll see all the DLC waves added to the game before the end in 2024, so we’ll see Wave 6 before the year is up as well.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC – Wave 5 New Characters

We know that some new characters are being added, these are those who were confirmed during the Nintendo Direct and where they appeared before:

  • Petey Piranha – Mario Kart Double Dash

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC – Wave 5 confirmed and predicted maps

There has been one map confirmed, but we know that there is more to come. We know the names of the two cups, the Feather Cup and the Cherry Cup. For the Feather Cup. The confirmed maps are:

  • Squeaky Clean Sprint

The official maps for the Feather Cup are:

  • Koopa Cape from Mario Kart Wii
  • Los Angeles Laps from Mario Kart Tour
  • Moonview Highway from Mario Kart Wii
  • Squeaky Clean Sprint, a new map

For the Cherry Cup, the courses are:

  • Athens Dash from Mario Kart Tour
  • Daisy Cruiser from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
  • Sunset Wilds from Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Vancouver Velocity from Mario Kart Tour

Each DLC cup has included at least one real-life city map from Mario Kart Tour, with various maps from previous Mario games that have been remastered. Many of these maps here are also summer-themed, and maps like Daisy Cruiser and Sunset Wilds will be perfect for a July release in the heat of the summer months.

The trailer released today confirms from Nintendo what the maps for the Feather Cup and Cherry Cup will be, so these are what you will see come to the game at release. We’re excited for even more courses to race and beat our friends at.
