With all the hype surrounding Overwatch 2: Invasion, fans are eager to jump into all the new content. However, with the beginning of a new season of Overwatch 2, the current season must come to an end.
As soon as Season 6 starts, Season 5 of Overwatch 2 is history. While fans are excited for the new battle pass and story missions, Season 5 had plenty to offer as well.

Season 5 End Date for Overwatch 2
Season 5 of Overwatch 2 will end on August 10, 2023. This makes way for the new Season 6, Invasion, to take its place. This brings an end to the Season 5 Battle Pass and all the cosmetics you could earn for your heroes in it.
Luckily, Invasion is going to be a big season, featuring PvE story missions players have been begging for. However, that doesn’t mean fans won’t be sad to see Season 5 go.
Season 5, which started in June, let Overwatch 2 players embark on a mythic adventure with a new battle pass story called Questwatch, a mode where players would progress through and make choices to help Adventurer Tracer save Overland from the Demon Lord Reinhardt. Although the season was fantasy-themed, with a special Mythic Skin for Tracer to match, the Summer Games Event also made a return, allowing for the Lucioball mode to return, and new game mode Winston’s Beach Volleyball.
Mischief & Magic also made its debut, a prop hunt mode where the royal guard sought out sneaky rogues causing trouble. All of these limited-time events will sadly be gone by the end of Season 5.
However, Season 6 promises tons of content to replace it as soon as it launches. Blizzard is finally adding story missions to the game, as well as a new game mode called Flashpoint, all at launch. There will be a new support hero, plenty of nerfs and buffs to existing heroes, and plenty of tiers to earn in the battle pass.
While there is so much packed into Season 6, Season 5 will be missed, so make sure to enjoy it while it lasts.
